Airbus tries to censor Afghan refugees

On 29 March 2018, an Airbus employee, Hannah de Vries, spoke at a recruiting event at Leiden University. The recruiter hereby ignored an open letter sent by the Federation of Afghan Refugees in the Netherlands (FAVON), which had requested a boycott of the the arms company. The letter highlighted the role of the weapons trade in escalating war in Afghanistan. Airbus is also involved in making Europe’s borders a deadlier place for refugees.

An American consultancy hired by Airbus has now requested the removal of articles about the open letter. Airbus’s bombs have permanently silenced many Afghans, and now the company is attempting to silence those who managed to escape. Help us counteract the censorship by spreading the message.

Stop the war on migrants! End warmongering by “security” companies!

Update 9 May: other organisations/websites that published the same article in 2018, including Doorbraak and Krapuul, were approached by the same consultancy to request the removal of the article. Apparently Hannah de Vries really doesn’t want the world to hear any criticism about her involvement in arms trade and border militarisation.
